Transferring iPhone Text Messages to An Excel Sheet

In order to better manage text messages, there are a lot of apps come out for helping users to manage their SMS. Is there an easier method which can help us to better save and manage text messages from iPhone X/8/8 Plus/7/6s/6? Sure, users can choose to export text messages from iPhone to Excel/text, if you don't know how to do, now you may read this article and learn the three ways.

Solution 1: Backup iPhone Message to Computer

After install iPhone Data Recovery to your computer, connect your iPhone with the computer via USB cable. And you would see the interface below when run the program.

In order to save time, we here suggest you to choose only "Messages & Attachments". And you would only see the result of messages in the scanning result.

Then you can choose those messages which you want to save as excel in your PC/Mac. To choose multiple messages you can also click "Messages" from the left menu to select all.

Click "Recover" as follow and choose "Recover to computer" to save them in the path as you need. (Users could select wanted files type like, .text, .xls, etc in settings.) It is a kind of easy way to export iPhone text messages to a spreadsheet. And the content can be more comprehensive.

Solution 2: Export iPhone SMS to Excel/Text from iTunes Backup

If users have backup in iTunes and have stored in the computer, it is also convenient to check the iMessages, WhatsApp messages and other kind of messages without iTunes. And users could not suffer the complex restoring process of iTunes to achieve messages exporting from iPhone and save as text or excel sheet.

When the scanning process is done, you will see lots of files display in the interface. Check only "Messages" to view detail. And you would see the interface as we showed in solution 1.

Check the messages you want to export and click "Recover", then choose a path you want to keep the text message excel file.

Solution 3: View iPhone Text Message in Excel from iCloud Backup

As we know the iCloud backup is always used for restore iOS device, have you ever thought that we can extract messages information for iCloud backup and save them as excel sheet? For users who have the habit to keep iCloud backup, this method can also be convenient.

Just select "Recover from iCloud Backup Files" and you are required to sign in your Apple ID account.

After you log into the iCloud account, all backups associated with this Apple ID will be listed.  You can choose the latest one or you can according to the name, date, version and size to choose your target iCloud backup file and click "Next".

In the next window, you can only choose "Messages (Attachments)" and click "Next" to download the backup files.

When the process is done, you follow the above steps to export iPhone text messages from iCloud to computer, change the settings and save them in Excel!
