Manual Liquify
If you need to manually apply liquify adjustments to specific areas of an image, click the Manual Liquify icon in the upper-left corner or use the shortcut “Ctrl + Shift + X” to enter the Manual Liquify workspace.(Tip: For more natural-looking results, we recommend first using the built-in AI features such as “Body Reshape” and “Face Reshape” for basic enhancements, then refining details with Manual Liquify.)
After entering the Manual Liquify interface, you can choose any of the following tools from the upper-left panel: “Forward Warp,” “Reconstruct,” “Smooth,” “Twirl,” “Pucker,” “Bloat,” “Push Left,” “Freeze Mask,” and “Thaw Mask.”Each tool also provides advanced adjustment options such as “Size,” “Density,” “Pressure,” “Speed,” “Pin Edges,” and “Show Mask.” Detailed descriptions of each function are provided below:
Forward Warp
Use the Forward Warp tool to push, pull, stretch, compress, or extend selected areas of the image, allowing you to freely reshape local contours. It is ideal for fine-tuning facial features, enhancing body proportions, or correcting object shapes.
Reconstruct
The Reconstruct feature gradually restores liquified areas back to their original appearance. If a Forward Warp adjustment results in excessive distortion or unnatural shapes, you can use this tool to repair imperfections and easily recover the original look.
Smooth
The Smooth tool is used to refine the edges and texture of liquified areas, helping to reduce harsh contours, uneven transitions, or visible jagged edges. After reshaping adjustments, this feature can soften transitions for a more natural and seamless result.
Twirl
With the Twirl tool, you can rotate selected areas of the image to adjust angles and orientation. It provides flexible control over object direction and tilt, making it suitable for a variety of shape adjustments.
Pucker
The Pucker tool creates a natural inward compression effect within selected areas, simulating folds and wrinkles in textures such as skin, fabric, or paper. It helps enrich image details and enhance realism and artistic depth.
Bloat
The Bloat tool expands selected areas outward, creating a fuller and more pronounced appearance. It is commonly used to enhance facial features, emphasize details, or improve the dimensional look of objects and portraits.
Push Left
The Push Left tool shifts and compresses brushed areas toward the left, enabling subtle horizontal reshaping. It is useful for refining contour proportions and making precise local adjustments.
Freeze
The Freeze tool locks selected areas of the image, protecting them from subsequent liquify adjustments. Before editing, you can freeze regions that should remain unchanged to prevent accidental distortion.
Thaw
The Thaw tool removes protection from previously frozen areas, restoring their editability. If you need to further modify protected regions, simply use Thaw to unlock them for additional adjustments.
Liquify – Size
Brush Size controls the working area of the liquify brush. Larger brushes are suitable for broad overall reshaping, while smaller brushes allow for precise detail adjustments. You can freely switch sizes based on your editing needs.
Liquify – Density
Density controls the intensity and pixel concentration of the liquify effect. Higher values create a broader and stronger deformation effect, suitable for dramatic adjustments, while lower values produce softer and more subtle modifications for delicate refinements.
Liquify – Pressure
The Pressure setting determines the strength of the brush effect. Increasing the pressure intensifies the reshaping effect, while lowering it creates smoother and gentler transitions for more natural-looking edits.
Liquify – Speed
Rate controls the deformation response speed while dragging the brush across the image. Proper adjustment helps maintain smooth and controlled reshaping, preventing excessive distortion caused by overly rapid transformations.
Liquify – Pin Edges
Enabling Pin Edges locks the image boundaries and prevents edge distortion during liquify operations. This helps preserve the overall structure of the image while making local adjustments.
Liquify – Show Mask
When used together with the Freeze and Thaw tools, enabling Show Mask displays frozen areas as a semi-transparent red overlay. This provides a clear visual distinction between editable and protected regions, making the editing process more intuitive and easier to manage.
