Ambient Light

Intelligently simulates professional cinematic lens filters (such as Black Mist and White Mist) and physical diffusion effects to effectively reduce the harsh sharpness of digital lenses, instantly adding a film-like lighting atmosphere to photos.

【Filter Mode Selection】

Choose a base lighting effect at the top according to the desired photo style:

  • Black Mist: Softens highlights while preserving shadow depth and overall contrast.
Suitable for: film-inspired looks, retro Hong Kong-style aesthetics, and softening skin details.
  • White Mist: Applies overall soft diffusion, spreading highlights outward while brightening shadows.
Suitable for: Japanese-style portraits, dreamy aesthetics, and soft, airy visual styles.
  • Glow: Creates a pure highlight bloom effect.
Suitable for: enhancing localized light sources such as sunlight through leaves, backlit hair, or jewelry reflections.

【Intensity Slider】

Intensity: Controls the overall effect strength, similar to adjusting the opacity of an effect layer. After configuring all detailed parameters below, use this slider to control the final blend ratio between the lighting effect and the original image. Lower values produce a result closer to the original photo.

【Core Parameter Guide】

After selecting a filter mode, you can fine-tune the lighting effects using the sliders below:

Parameter
Controls the intensity of the glow effect. Higher values create a stronger luminous texture and more noticeable lighting effects.
Radius
Controls the size of the glow halo. Higher values expand the diffusion range outward, creating a wider bloom effect.
Threshold
The core control that determines “how bright an area must be to glow.” Lower values cause even darker regions to emit glow, creating an overall hazy atmosphere. Higher values restrict the effect to only the brightest highlights (such as catchlights or reflective spots), preserving shadow details.
Exposure
Adjusts the brightness of the glowing areas only. Brightens or darkens the active glow regions without affecting the exposure of the rest of the image.
Light Scattering
Controls the smoothness of glow falloff. Higher values create softer and more natural blending between the glow edges and the background.

【Colorize】

Enable the [Colorize] switch to apply a separate ambient color overlay to glowing areas, allowing you to change the overall mood of the image (for example, simulating warm sunset lighting or cyberpunk neon glow).

Colorize Parameter
Function & Adjustment Effect
Hue
Determines the color tone of the lighting effect. Drag the slider left or right to select the desired glow color, such as red, blue, or yellow.
Color Saturation
Controls the richness and intensity of the added color. Higher values create deeper and more vivid glow colors, while lower values produce softer and subtler tones.
Color Brightness
Controls the brightness of the colored glow. Works together with hue and saturation to fine-tune the final intensity and visual impact of the colored lighting effect.

【Show Glow Range】

This is a visualization mask toggle designed for precise lighting control. When enabled, the image temporarily becomes desaturated while highlighting the exact areas currently affected by the glow effect.

  • First, enable this switch.
  • Drag the [Threshold] slider left or right to precisely define the areas you want to glow.
  • After confirming the glow range, disable this switch and continue adjusting parameters such as Strength and Radius.
