"Lost File Recovery" mode allows you to recover files deleted by pressing "Command + Delete" or emptying the Trash, recover files from formatted hard drive and other storage devices like memory card, external hard drive, USB, pen drive, etc.
Step 1: Click "Lost File Recovery" in the Home window.
Step 2: On the main interface, you can see all the volumes on Mac are listed there. Select the volume where you lost your files, and specify the file types you need to recover. And then click "Scan" to start scanning.
Step 3: After scanning, all the recoverable files are displayed by file type and file path. Check the files you need, and then click "Recover" to get back the files. Before recovery, you can preview photos and audios to check if they are indeed your need.
1. During scanning, you can flexibly pause, stop or continue scan.
2. After scanning, you can filter your lost files by typing its name.
3. If you temporarily give up recovering during or after scanning, you can save the scan result and import it to resume recovery without a second scan. It is a file with suffix .res.
4. If you view files by file type, you can then click "Filter list" for filtering by file types, file size, and creating time.
Step 4: Specify location to save the recovered files. Please keep in mind that you can't save them to the partition where you lost files. Otherwise, the lost files will be overwritten.
