How to Extract iTunes Backup Files with iTunes Data Recovery

Step 1. Select and import iTunes backup file to the program

After download and installation, launch Tenorshare iTunes Data Recovery. You'll notice that the program automatically finds all iTunes backups and lists them on the interface. All you need to do is select the backup for your iOS device and click "Start Scan".

If the backup is encrypted, you should enter password to decrypt the backup before importing them to the program.

If there's no backup listed after scanning, click "Import Backup File" in the bottom of the interface and select the location to import backup manually.

Sometimes iTunes backup files may be deleted or lost, just click "Go get back deleted iTunes backup" and a pop-up window will let you to choose a path to scan iTunes backup. Click Start Scan" to find the files instantly.

After scanning, the lost or deleted backup will be listed out, choose the backup and click "Recover" to get it back.

Step 2. Scan and preview backup files

The scanning process will finish within seconds and then you can preview all the data in the backup. Choose the file type you want and preview in details. You are also allowed to preview only deleted ones or existed ones by clicking the different preview options.

Step 3. Recover data from iTunes backup

Tick the data you need and click "Recover" to save them in your computer. Text files like messages, contacts, notes, reminders can be saved in 3 types of files: .txt, .xls and .xml. Media files like photos, videos and voice memos can be saved in their original formats.
