Guide for Recovering Android Videos

Format the SD card carelessly, accidentally delete some perfect family videos, movies suddenly become inaccessible.... Things like this happen occasionally. So most people wondered is there a way to restore deleted or lost videos from an Android phone? Actually, if your phone or the internal memory card is not physically damaged, you can get the video back without any quality loss.

Tenorshare Android Data Recovery lets you restore lost videos from both Android internal memory storage and external SD card.

Step 1: Connect Android Device

Open Android Data Recovery on computer, and connect your Android phone/tablet to computer with USB cable.

Step 2: Enable USB Storage

If you still stay at the first interface without changing, click "Find your device" and then "Connect".

For Mac: For Android 2.3 or earlier -> Pull down Notifications -> Select "USB connected" -> Tap "Turn on USB storage".

Tap "OK" on your device when a window will pop up. And click "Have tapped OK button in your device" on the software interface.

For Mac: For Android 4.0 -> Enter "Settings" -> Click "Wireless and Network" -> Click "USB utilities" -> Click "Connect Storage to PC" -> Click "Turn on USB Storage".

USB Mass Storage was removed several Android versions ago. You can skip this step if your phone does not provide this setting.

Step 3: Enable USB Debugging

If Android Data Recovery does not detect your phone, please enable USB debugging first. The steps vary on different Android versions. If you cannot find the USB debugging option after following the steps, please check the phone manual.

If you haven't installed USB driver for your Android device, this software will automatically install it for you. If it fails, follow this article to download and install Android USB driver manually.

Step 4: Start Scanning

After your device is detected, click "Allow" when an app Superuser Request pops up on your device's screen to allow the program super user authorization. Then click "Start" on the software screen.

Choose the “Video” in file types list and click Next to start scanning videos.

For Mac, you need to specify the recovery mode first: Quick Recovery/Deep Recovery.

After that, you need to wait for several minutes for requesting superuser authorization of your device.

Step 5: Preview Videos on Android Device

It will take several seconds to scan the files. After scanning finished, you can preview all the videos or movies in the list. You are allowed to preview them to check if they are your need before recovery.

Step 6: Recover and Save the Videos

Tick the videos you need, click "Recover" to recover and save them on your PC. The videos are saved in their original formats.
